꼬박 꼬박 인사 잘 하는 아이가 참 이쁘죠? 우리 세린이도 어디 가서 예의 바르다는 소리를 들었으면 좋겠는데 말이죠. 그러기 위해서 인사하는 노래도 많이 불러 주고 있어요. 

근데 Hello Song만 해도 여러 가지가 있거든요. 그 중 세린이랑 자주 부르는 노래 하나 소개할께요.

몸을 좀 움직이고 나니까 조용한 음악을 들으면서 차라도 한 잔 했으면 싶어 지네요. 어떠세요?

The Muppet Movie 중에서 Kermit the Frog가 부르는 애잔한 "The Rainbow Connection"이란 노래 아세요? 제가 이 노래를 어떻게 알게 되었는지는 기억이 잘 나지 않지만 얼마 전 우연히 인터넷상에서 들었는데 어린 시절이 떠오르는 게 기분이 묘해지더라구요...

서양에서는 The Wizard of Oz(오즈의 마법사) 주제곡인 "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" 가사에도 나오는 것처럼 무지개 저 너머를 꿈과 희망의 상징으로 생각하곤 하거든요. 근데 또 하나, 사랑하던 애완동물이나 사랑하는 사람이 저 세상으로 갈 때 역시 rainbow bridge를 건너간다고 그런데요. (그래서 그런지 저 세상으로 간 애완동물을 위한 장례를 도와 주는 업체 이름 중에는 rainbow bridge 등 무지개와 관련되는 게 많네요.) 사랑하는 이를 여의는 슬픔이 크긴 하지만, 나중에 언젠가 우리 모두 아름다운 rainbow bridge를 건너가 행복이 넘치는 저 세상에서 함께 만날 거라는 의미가 있다는군요...

앗... 방방 뛰다가 갑자기 분위기가 너무 숙연해 졌나요?

아이들 키우다 보면 개인 시간을 좀처럼 내기가 어렵잖아요? 그래서 전 이렇게 제가 좋아하는 영어노래를 세린이랑 같이 듣는 걸로 아쉽게 나마 제 여가시간을 대신하고 있답니다...
